Welcome toWe are very pleased to welcome Tom Caw as the Music Public Services Librarian. Tom joins us from the University of Hartford, where he served as Public Services Librarian for the Allen Memorial Library from 2005 to 2008. In this position, Tom was responsible for bibliographic instruction, reference services and collection development for the students and faculty of the Hartt School. At Mills Music Library, Tom will serve as principal reference librarian, assist with instruction, research and outreach activities, as well as participate in collection development.
Tom earned his Master of Library and Information Science and a Master of Music History and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. An active member of the Music Library Association, Tom is Co-Coordinator of the Jazz and Popular Music Roundtable, with a prior appointment as Co-Chair of the New Members Forum. Tom has given presentations at the International Association for the Study of Popular Music, the Midwest Popular Culture Association/ Midwest American Culture Association and MLA.
