Where Have the New Books Gone?
by Mark Rosa
Regular readers of The Jongleur may by now have noticed the disappearance in print of our New Acquisitions lists. The good news is that they are alive and well and may now be found on the Mills Music Library homepage. Here you will find, arranged by format (books, scores, and sound recordings), lists of newly cataloged titles, added monthly since September 1996 for books and scores and January 1996 for recordings. Each entry includes, as applicable, author or composer, title, publication information, and call number. It is hoped that the electronic version will provide this information in a more flexible and more widely accessible fashion to users both in and outside the library.
New books and scores will continue to be displayed with a yellow flag for approximately two weeks on the "New Books Shelves," just next to the reference area, before being shelved in the regular stacks. (A reminder: don't forget to check there if you're having difficulty locating a new title.)
