RILM — in Your Jammies

Since 1967 when it was first issued, RILM (Repertoire International de Litterature Musicale) has been the leading abstracting vehicle for scholarly publications in music; some might add the only abstracting vehicle, but that's another matter. The burden of searching each yearly edition of the print volumes eased considerably when RILM became available as a stand-alone CD-ROM product in the early 1990s. Recently, another change has been made to make it even more broadly available.

RILM is now offered as part of the suite of databases available through WorldCat, one of the Indexes in the Electronic Library. Even better news is that you can access all the WorldCat databases, including RILM, at home through your WiscWorld software, even at 3:00 AM, sitting in your jammies, wearing your Oscar the Grouch slippers, sporting a cheesehead, while the cat sleeps in your lap. It just doesn't get much better than this!

For those of you who prefer the aesthetic experience obtained from a tactile relationship with a book, the Music Library continues to subscribe to the print version of RILM, still found on its comfortable corner of the Index Table.
