Mills Music Library recently purchased Women Composers, a microfilm collection containing some three thousand compositions of the late eighteenth, nineteenth, and early twentieth centuries. The collection, filmed from the University of Michigan's holdings, includes works by such composers as Nadia Boulanger, Pauline Viardot, Maria Malibran, Ethel Smyth, Cecile Chaminade, etc., and is particularly strong in the works of European composers. It thus complements nicely Mills' own Women's Sheet Music Collection with its strengths in Americana.
