the Jongleur, Newsletter of Mills Music Library
Final Words --
The May 1999 Madison ARSC Conference

"If you missed the Madison conference, you missed one of the best ever." Thus began the opening sentence of the current newsletter of the Association of Recorded Sound Collections which discussed their recent annual cnference hosted by the Mills Music Library. The article then offered an overview of the program with descriptive comments; local presenters were noted, and much praise was passed around. A few more quotes from the article:

Kenneth Frazier made a "tribute to collectors as sources for institutional collections."

James Leary set the "leitmotiv-to-be of the Conference. Is the Accordion an acceptable musical instrument? An enthusiastic 'Yes' from most of us."

Rick March played "Impromptu accordion selections."

Jan Duxbury's session was "well presented."

The local arrangements were "absolutely superb."

"Madison was wonderful."

The conference was a "great experience."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
