The General Library System has begun a new book retrieval service. The service enables patrons to request that a book owned by any campus library be delivered to another library for pickup. So, for example, if you want a book on acoustics from the Engineering Library but never seem to have a chance to get there, you can inititate a request directly through MadCat and have the book sent to Memorial Library for pickup. Currently, this service applies only to books with 14-day, 28-day, or semester loan periods. Books will be held for patrons up to ten days.
Placing a book retrieval request is very straightforward:
If the Status of the item you want is Checked Out, Renewed, or Overdue, select RECALL from current borrower. Click OK.
If the Status of the item is Not Checked Out, In Transit, On hold at, or Returned on, select RETRIEVE from the shelf. Click OK.
If there is any other Status, place a hold on the item and consider requesting the item through interlibrary loan.
