Effective June 1, 2002, Music Library Director Geri Laudati was appointed Acting Head of the UW Library's Department of Special Collections. She will continue to oversee both units until a permanent curator for Special Collections has been hired. Ms. Laudati has been the Director of the Music Library since 1989. Paul Friedman, currently enrolled in the School of Library and Information Studies, has been hired to assist with some responsibilities in the Music Library while Laudati has the dual appointment.
