Film Index International contains two indexes. The film index contains single-sentence plot summaries, cast lists, and brief bibliographies on approximately 90,000 films dating from 1930, with selective coverage before 1930.There is no subject search capability, other than keywords from titles and synopses. The personality index contains basic information about approximately 30,000 personalities in the film industry. The contents of the database are drawn from the British Film Institute Library's internal database.
The Internet Movie Database is a searchable or browsable collection of detailed information about more than 200,000 movies, including cast, director, filming locations, plot, production, and more. The database is searchable by title, actor, character, quote, awards, and plot. There is biographical information about more than 400,000 actors and actresses and nearly 40,000 directors.
ARC serves as the online information system for the National Archives and Records Administration. It contains information about a wide variety of NARA’s holdings across the country. Although ARC contains more than 3,000 microfilm publications descriptions, 607,000 archival holdings descriptions, and 124,000 digital copies, it represents only a limited portion of NARA’s vast holdings.
