    One of the special collections in the Mills Music Library, this database contains some 7,000 titles of sheet music published in 19th-century America. Midwestern publishers are well represented.

    This is a web site linking to a database of British songs. Join in a cornucopia of information on over 6000 song cycles,sets, albums, collections and individual songs, representing a body of song literature from the end of the 16th century to the present.In addition to English songs, there are Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Canadian, Australian, and South African songs. Some songs are in a foreign language but by British composers. This site can be helpful to singers, teachers, and recital/concert programmers looking for repertoire, or for anyone with a taste for beautiful songs and great poetry.

  • California Library Systems Cooperative Song Index

    This index contains more than 180,000 song titles (mostly popular music) from over 2,000 sheet music collections (song books, magazines, and other collections). It includes the collections of the California Library System Reference Centers and some of the libraries in their systems.

  • Catalog of Music Special Collections (University of North Texas)

    This database provides access to popular music titles from the UNT Music Library's WBAP Collection and Song Collection. It also includes an index of songs published in Sheet Music Magazine and Piano Today. It has many search options.

  • Folk Music Site Search

    This site includes popular folk songs in the public domain such as Today, The Dark Isle, Ashokan Farewell, Killkelly, and The Queen of Argyll. Songs after 1922 are protected by copyright and are not included.

    The Mudcat Cafe site contains a database of approximately 9000 Folk and Blues songs, searchable by lyrics.

  • Popular Song Database (University of Washington)

    This is an online index to collections of popular music. It does not include lyrics and is searchable by title or keywords in title only.

    Searchable indexes of 40+ jazz fake books including more recent legal volumes as well as some older bootleg fake books.

    Themefinder is a searchable database of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Folksong themes provided by Stanford University and Ohio State University.

  • Tunes at Ceolas

    Ceolas carries notation for several hundred traditional tunes, in various formats, along with music software and an index of most published tune sources and links to other sites with tunes and songs.

    This is a publicly-available database providing access to about 50,000 songs in more than 1,500 published song anthologies owned by the George F. DeVine Music Library at the University of Tennessee, located in Knoxville. This is an index to citations only.
