Below you'll soon find a sampling of the "Northland Hoedown" radio show hosted by Robert Andresen. The show broadcast over radion station KUMD, the University of Minnesota–Duluth station at 103.3 FM. The radio series originally aired in the spring of 1983 and was braodcast weekly at 1:30 p.m. Fridays with the same program repeated the following Tuesday at 7 p.m. It also aired on stations WOJB in Reserve, Wisconsin, KAXE in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and WDAY in Fargo, North Dakota.

Andresen hosted more than 90 programs highlighting folk music of the Upper Midwest. The music of Finnish-American, Polish-American, Jewish, Bohemian, and Scandinavian music are among the ethnic groups highlighted. He also aired interviews with old-time northern musicians such as Archie Teigen, Joe Czerniak, Bob Palmquist, Walter Skendjiel, and Bobby Aro. Still other shows are based on live recordings at Upper Midwest music events such as Nordic Fest, Snoose Bolevard Festivals, and the Ashland Folk Festival.
